Layo Toraga is a cooperative in Guji, Ethiopia. Founded in 1976, Layo Toraga provides market access to small producers who otherwise wouldn't have had a place to sell their coffee. Its 1841 members grow coffee in gardens and the forests near their homes. After harvesting, they deliver the cherries to the co-op's washing station, where they are pulped, fermented and dried.
We're tasting Peach Candy, Blood Orange, and Marzipan when brewing.
Roaster's Notes: Throughout my coffee journey, I always find myself coming back to natural coffees from Ethiopia, and this coffee demonstrates why. The juiciness and complexity of this lot show how exciting coffee can be.
