Honduras - Finca La Unica Washed Lempira

Finca La Unica is the sister farm of Finca Terrerito, who we have sourced from before. It’s run by Leticia Lopez, Al Lopez’s daughter, making this a 5th-generation operation. Coffee is grown at Finca La Unica and then taken to Finca Terrerito to be processed and exported. Finca Terrerito is vertically integrated, meaning that growing, processing, exporting, and importing are all controlled with precision, making for consistency and quality that you can taste in the cup. Finca Terrerito’s mission is to improve lives and engage in sustainable practices, knowing that extraordinary coffee will follow. They’ve dug wells and built schools and medical clinics in the area to serve those in their own and neighboring communities. Ensuring the long term well-being of their community is their top priority. They also emphasize the importance of providing options for other producers nearby. Since they act as exporters as well as producers, they are able to purchase coffee from their neighbors and export it, giving them a better price than they might get at their local cooperative. Finca Terreritio provides the infrastructure and shares this access to markets that otherwise wouldn’t exist. We’ve been working with Finca Terrerito for as long as we have been operating and are so excited to share another offering with you!

This coffee is a sweet one. Look for Chocolate, Cherry, and Cinnamon Roll notes in the cup when you brew.
